I Love Bagels!

Not only because I am a fitness enthusiast but I enjoy bagels because of the great texture ! When I serve cheeses during our B&B reception time, I add a little flair by cutting bagels into bite size pieces , then sauteeing them with Italian olive oil in a large pan. Once they are lightly brown on both sides I pour the batch into a big basket and season with my favorite spices. Recently I discovered a new favorite and wonderful spice from our local spice merchant-Whole Spices at the Oxbow Public Market, it is called The Pizza Spice Blend and wow it is great on the sauteed bagels! Next time you serve assorted cheeses, substitute these “bagel bites” in place of crackers!I can’t take all the credit as my dear mother introduced me to her version of “bagel bites” I just spiced them up a bit!

The 32nd annual Napa Valley Marathon

March 7th 2010

What a beautiful day for a 26.2 mile run. I was once again honored to be on the Napa Valley Marathon Board of Directors. We have such a great team and the race went very well. The weather cooperated, coolness in the morning and great sunshine along the course and across the finish. This has to be one of the best marathon races because of the flat , semi rolling course it is a great qualifying race for Boston.

All of the people I spoke with, and there were many ,truly had a great time, and plan to return. Cheers to all of the participants and congratulations.

Hey Celeste….just creating a moment to once again thank you and Bruce for your warmth and hospitality …not to mention the great suggestions for wineries and food …loved that Uva Trattoria …. We just had Goose Crossing 05 Merlot and it was yummy ! … and if ya ever do need a substitute Innkeeper , let me know that too ! …Take care , see you next time ! we still have to get into the French laundry so Antony can taste the food and get a business card for his collection … Cheers ! Hi Celeste,
Xavier and I had a wonderful time in Napa. We hope to visit again in the near future. On our way out we had time to visit Cuvaison Vineyards, which was really good. They schedule reservations, but since we were the only ones there at 11:00 they were able to let us taste.

I am sending you the “Anniversary Group” photo of Xavier and myself, we celebrated 25 years, Andriana and George were celebrating 30 years, and Amy and Chet were celebrating 5 years.

Again, thank you. We’ll keep in touch regarding 2007 wine for Hayleigh.
